Additional on street parking available • Dogs welcome with approval • Pack and play and high chair for little ones FALL ON THIS HILLSIDE Kenilworth sits at roughly 2,150 feet, putting this porch in Asheville's late-October color band — the last and longest stretch of the season, when the ridges above town finally turn. The Parkway is 15 minutes away for the classic drive. On the cool evenings you will thoroughly enjoy the warmth of the fireplace. From November 3 the Biltmore Estate lights up for Christmas — half a mile from your door, close enough to go at dusk and come back to a warm room. INSIDE Off the king bedroom, French doors open straight onto the screened porch — wake up, open them, let the morning in. The bathroom is a surprise for a suite this size: a walk-in travertine shower, a towel warmer, and a tankless heater so the hot water never runs out. THE NEIGHBORHOOD One of Asheville's oldest and most walkable neighborhoods — Arts and Crafts cottages, big trees, quiet streets, six breweries and cider houses nearby. • Biltmore Estate entrance — half a mile • Biltmore Village shops and restaurants — walkable • Downtown Asheville — 1.7 miles, about 5 minutes • Mission Hospital — under a mile • Blue Ridge Parkway — 15 minutes • Asheville Regional Airport — about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic BEFORE YOU BOOK This is the lower level of our home, with its own entrance to the left of the front porch, down a lighted walkway and 12 stairs. You may hear footsteps, a vacuum, occasional piano music or laughter now and then. And while the Hideaway sits up in the trees, it is inside the city limits: along with the crickets you will hear traffic, trains and the occasional ambulance. This is not a remote mountain cabin — it is a quiet, private, wooded perch two minutes from everything.
