Shared house: Magnolia is the lower-level suite in an older three-unit home. The other lower suite and the larger upstairs apartment are rented separately and may have guests during your stay. You have your own private entrance and keypad — you share no door and no entryway — but the house is older and sound carries between floors and through the vents. If a quiet retreat is your top priority, please read this section carefully before booking. You are welcome to message us any time to ask whether the other apartments are booked for your dates. Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are 10pm to 7am, and we ask all guests to keep noise down whenever there are guests below. If the other units ever become excessive, tell us and we will handle it. Street and neighbourhood noise: We are on a busy street between the two big-box stores, so you will hear some traffic from the kitchen and the main bedroom. Rubbish collection comes early on Monday mornings. Lion's Park across the street is complete and open, with walking paths, a duck pond, playground and open lawn. No Pets and No Smoking: The three units share an HVAC system, so there is a strict no-pets and no-smoking policy, inside and out, for the benefit of guests with allergies. Any known abuse of the smoking policy may result in a substantial fine. Outdoor Cameras: Security cameras are mounted at the entrances to the house for your safety. They face outdoors only, may record video and audio, and there are no cameras of any kind inside the suite. Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped and older in style — full-size fridge, oven, stove, microwave, toaster, blender, kettle and a Keurig. There is no dishwasher. Parking: Park in back at the base of the stairs, or on the street out front by the pathway that leads around to the back of the house. Baby gear: A pack-n-play and a booster seat are available on request. We do not have a crib or a high chair. Cancellation Policy: We follow the cancellation policy in place at the time you booked, as shown in your confirmation. If there is any chance you may need to cancel, we recommend travel insurance at checkout. Refunds are not provided outside the booked policy for weather, illness, or travel disruptions. Damage Protection: A damage waiver is included with your cleaning fee and covers any accidental damage during your stay. Intentional damage will be your responsibility. Please let us know of any damage so we can remedy it for our next guests. Rental Agreement: A link to our rental agreement will be sent to you to sign before you check in. You may also be asked to verify your identity through a third party using two-factor authentication; we do not store any of your personal data.
